Return to steampunk after 12 years

Sometimes life, in a surprising way, brings us back to where it all once began.

12 years ago I took part in a steampunk show for the first time. And I had absolutely no intention of participating — I thought I had no collection and nothing to show.

But it all began with one successful hat. Then it suddenly turned out that there were already several hats, vintage finds appeared — and as if out of nowhere, an entire collection came together.

And 12 years later, steampunk appeared in my life again.

This time I went to a steampunk festival in Kaunas. And, of course, the main object of my attention was headwear.

Top hats, hats, caps, glasses, gears, metal, unusual details — here, headwear is not just an addition to clothing. It can become the main character of the whole look.

I enjoyed looking at people, meeting them, taking photos, and observing how differently each person creates their character.

Someone works out a costume down to the tiniest detail, someone combines steampunk with modern things, and someone completely changes the mood of the look with just one piece of headwear.

Perhaps that is exactly why I love headwear.

You don't have to change your entire wardrobe to one day see a completely different version of yourself in the mirror. Sometimes all it takes is just to put on a hat.

And once again I am convinced: it’s all in the hat.
